Not so much snobby as plain eccentric, Caroline Zachrie puts on the upper class airs in the “Finest Things”, a program she presents for the Jakarta based O Channel. Designer clothes and vintage wines are great. But intricate gold jewelry, diamond encrusted watches and ultra expensive yachts are even better. And all this in a country where half the population eke out a living on less than five bucks a day.
And as for Caroline Zachrie’s finest things? Definitely her lips, I’d say!

Jakarta Undercover is now being shown at cinemas in Jakarta. The film paints a rather glamorous picture of the life of a striptease artist (played by Luna Maya) and her autistic sibling. A nice story but not exactly social realism.
Cos in the real world, beautiful and sophisticated chicks like Luna Maya don’t end up in the striptease “profession”.
But girls like Midah do.
A rather venomous looking Midah does the striptease circuit in Jakarta. There’s a lot she will do and not much she won’t - for a price (negotiable of course). And her claim to fame? A pictorial in the now defunct Lipstick Magazine!!!

Bule out. New lover in. It hasn’t taken very long at all for Titi DJ to find a new man. And if the media reports are to be believed, she is still waiting for the official divorce papers from her failed marriage with Andrew Hollis Dougharty to come through!
But at least she’s happy again now. And that’s the most important thing ain’t it? Cos like a hormonal crazed teenager, Titi DJ is madly in love again at the age of 40. Her catch? Novia Rahmansyah (Ovie), guitarist for the Indonesian rock band Rif.
There’s a moral here of course, and although I ain’t sure what it is, I think Indonesia’s most eligible janda (divorcee) Tamara Blezinsky could learn something. And that is to get a new man - even if he is covered in tattoos. And to get one now!!
